Launched on July 21, 2022, at the Technopark campus by Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal, IGNITE aims to provide IT skills and employment prospects to 1500 young individuals in the region. The program proved successful in 2022 when it took place on August 20th, with almost 90% of participating students securing jobs in the IT industry upon completion.
Building on its past achievements, in 2024, IGNITE has even more ambitious plans, with over 5000 internship opportunities set to be offered to fresh graduates within the IT parks of Kerala. This expansion is expected to further enhance employment prospects and contribute to the growth of the IT sector in the state.
In this exciting internship program, candidates have the unique opportunity to work with top companies located in prestigious IT hubs such as Government Cyberpark, Info Park, and Technopark, . What’s even better is that interns will receive a competitive minimum wage, which includes contributions from both the companies and the government.
The program is open to a wide range of participants, including recent graduates and students awaiting their results, as well as diploma holders, undergraduates (B.Tech), and postgraduates (PG). So, regardless of your educational background, this internship provides an excellent chance to kickstart your career in the IT industry and gain invaluable experience with renowned organizations.
Key Features of the IGNITE Internship Program
- Duration: The internship program spans a minimum of 6 months, ensuring candidates have ample time to gain valuable experience.
- Monthly Stipend: During the initial 6 months, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5000 sponsored by the government. Additionally, companies are required to pay a minimum of Rs. 5000 to employees, resulting in a total monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000 for candidates.
- Selection Criteria: Companies will select candidates based on their qualifications and skills, ensuring a suitable match between the intern and the organization.
- Registration Process: Both companies and candidates need to register on the program’s website to participate in the hiring process and avail of subsidies.
- Internship Locations: The IT park will host the internship program at various designated locations, providing a conducive environment for learning and growth.

The IGNITE Internship Program was organized by prominent IT parks in Kerala, namely Technopark Trivandrum, Cyberpark Calicut, and Infopark Kochi.
This initiative has garnered support from key organizations like Kerala Startup Mission, ICT Academy of Kerala, GTECH, and Calicut Federation of IT (CAFIT) who has done a CAFIT reboot earlier this year.
